Signs Your Transmission Is Failing

Signs Your Transmission Is Failing

Are you currently experiencing car trouble? Could it be your transmission? You don’t have to be too knowledgeable about automobiles to understand that a vehicle requires a properly functioning transmission to run smoothly.    Below, we've put together a list of warning signs that could indicate the car trouble you experience is due to a faulty transmission. Take a look!    Odd Burning Smells  Again, you don’t have to be a mechanic to understand that when driving your car, you shouldn’t smell anything burning. A burning smell should raise a huge red flag. You never want the transmission fluid to start burning, as this could lead to expensive and permanent damage. If you do notice an odd burning smell, do not continue to drive your vehicle. Instead, visit an auto shop.    Check Engine Light Comes On To be fair, your check engine light can come on for myriad reasons—but one of those reaso ... read more

How to Save Gas

How to Save Gas

Today, with the rising price of gasoline, you may be searching for creative ways to make your fuel last a little longer. The obvious solution, drive less, may not be a realistic option for you. Don’t worry, though: We’ve put together a list of helpful (and more realistic) tips to consider trying. Take a look!    Watch Your Speed, Drive Steady  Did you know that driving fast can increase drag, leading to an increase in fuel consumption? Additionally, if your speed isn’t kept at a consistent pace, you could find yourself using more gas than normal. When you can, consider using cruise control.    Monitor Your Braking  Just like it's important to pay attention to your speed, it's equally as important to pay attention to when and how you brake. Specifically, try to avoid braking excessively, as doing so wastes gas.    Turn the Engine Off  It doesn’t matter how fast the errand is or how ... read more

Say Goodbye to Interior Microbes and Odors with Ozone Treatment

Say Goodbye to Interior Microbes and Odors with Ozone Treatment

If you’ve ever spilled food or drinks in your car (or left your lunch in there for a couple of days) you probably know that vehicles really have a way of trapping smells. That can be a good thing when it’s the fragrance of your favorite air freshener… not so much if it’s the odor of moldy food! Some smells just have a way of lingering, no matter how much you try to scrub or deodorize. That’s where you need something a little more powerful, like an ozone generator. What is an Ozone generator? Ozone generators (also called “ozone machines”) generate ozone (O3). This is sometimes referred to as activated oxygen. Ozone is a natural air cleansing agent. The most widely recognized occurrence of it in nature is the earth’s ozone layer, but ozone is also formed during thunderstorms and in waterfalls. Have you ever noticed the characteristically fresh scent lingering after a thunderstorm or while standing by a waterfall? This is caused by the f ... read more

Prepare your Car for Summer with Maintenance

Prepare your Car for Summer with Maintenance

Looking for ways to prepare your car for summer with maintenance? RPM Automotive Services is here to help. The maintenance necessary for summer all depends on your specific vehicle, as well as how often you bring your vehicle to a repair shop for its scheduled services, such as oil changes. Prior to summer, some important components to have inspected are your belts and hoses, and cooling system. Worn belts and hoses are even more likely to crack during the heat. The hotter it gets outdoors the more likely a belt failure is to occur. Another factor to consider, is the mileage of your vehicle. 80% of belt failures occur at 85,000+ miles. Nearly 15% if vehicles on the road today have a hose that needs replacement as well. Other important parts prone to failing in the summer heat are the radiator, radiator cap, and water pump. A water pump ty ... read more

My car came in badly tuned. In a state of disarray. As the first dyno-pull showed. Martin took his time and trouble-shooted on the dyno what was needed to be addressed. Each following dyno-pull, the car responded better and better. The final product is that my car is running beyond my wildest dreams. She purrs like a kitten at idle and when you push the loud pedal she runs like a rocket. She is running so much better than I could have ever wished for. Martin also gave me a tune on the conservative side, which will protect the motor, and give me many miles of trouble free fun driving. Which I also wanted. This was all possible by Martin’s extensive experience and Jason’s care to detail. It was a great experience for me.One that could have been very stressful. But my car was treated as if she was a $ 500,000 Ferrari. And for me that is priceless. I will recommend RPM and the DYNO-TUNING services to everyone that is looking for a knowledgeable staff and attention to detail shop ... read more

After checking online, I came across RPM Dyno Tuning in Rohnert Park. I spoke to Brad regarding my particular wants, and set up an appointment to get my 05 GTO performance tuned. Brad asked me what I wanted to achieve, and then he set up the car accordingly. The initial results were fantastic! Brad had me drive the car for a few days, and then fine tuned it based on my request. I must say, the car drives amazing! Not just faster; the shift points are firm and well timed based on my driving habits. Power is right were it’s needed. It was money well spent, and I know it was done right! Thank you Brad and the staff at RPM, Joe Khan Santa Rosa, Ca

The car is a blast to drive

The car is a blast to drive

I have to say that when I read of others who have had problems with my kind of set up, due to “other” shops, I count my blessings that I was referred to you. The car is a blast to drive. I have also noticed that HP is definitely a drug. Now I want more, but I also realize that I have reached the safety limit of the lower end. I couldn’t be more pleased with all the work and the incredible tuning you have done. Thanks again Brad for the incredible work you all did
